Mushroom Cave
I assisted on the creation of the Mushroom Cave Set with four other artists. My main contributions included helping design the layout of the set and creating several mushrooms out of clay and silicone.
Crystal Cave
The structure of the Crystal Cave set was constructed with foam and decorated with painted quartz and pieces of glass. There are holes drilled through the foam at key points under the larger crystals to accommodate lighting. I managed the majority of this set’s construction.
Volcano Exterior
The structure of the Volcano Exterior set was constructed with foam. I was involved in the foam carving, texturing, tree placement, and painting. I also created the cooled lava on and around the volcano by twisting and painting fabric.
Volcano Interior
The structure of the Volcano Interior set was made with foam and plywood. The Crystal Cave set I fabricated was incorporated into the side of the wall. Additional texture and detail was added with spray foam, perlite, old machinery parts, dinosaur bone casts, and wood. I was involved in every step of constructing this set except for making the plywood base.
Ptero Hut
This set was made to match a miniature on the back of the pterodactyl puppet. The structure was constructed from foam and wood. The details on the door are made of polystyrene strips. I assisted with every step of this set’s construction.
Cave Exit
This set was made from plywood, foam, moss, and fake plants. I assisted in every step of this set aside from constructing the plywood base. I also fabricated a miniature version of it to go on another set, which can be found in the Props and Miniatures section of my portfolio.
The Atrium
The Atrium was made to match a miniature that can be found in the Props and Miniatures section of my portfolio. I was involved in painting, creating the stone path, placing greenery and plants, and general set dressing.
The Palace Entrance
I assisted in the majority of this set’s construction including bending Masonite for the curved walls, laying tiles, sculpting and painting the stonework, bending and attaching molding and polystyrene window details, attaching the doors, and placing greenery.
